BIOGRAPHY
 
When Alexander Rolland Peacock was born on October 30, 1912, in Manhattan, New York, his father, Clarence, was 26 and his mother, Jean, was 24. On May 18, 1942, at the age of 29, he enlisted in the Army to serve in World War II. He died on July 29, 1963, in Rye, New York, at the age of 50. In Rye his family lived on Highland Road.

Alexander Rolston Peacock

Alexander Rolston Peacock of Highland Road died suddenly on Monday at United Hospital. He was fifty years old.

Born in New York, the son of Mrs. Jean Rolston Peacock and the late Clarence N. Peacock, he had livnd in Rye most of his life. He attended Lawrenceville School and served in World War II in the Central Intelligence Corps.

Mr. Peacock's particular interest was the Little Missionary Day Nursery which maintains homes for children both in New York City and in Rye. The Nursery was founded by his grandfather, the late Louis Rolston, and Mr. Peacock was president of the organization at the time of his death. His hobby was flowers, particularly orchids, which he exhibited in many shows. Mr. Peacock was a member of the Apawamis Club for many years.

Funeral sen-ices were held yesterday afternoon from William H. Graham Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph P. Bishop, minister of the Rye Presbyterian Church officiated and interment was in Wood lawn Cemetery, New York.
