Daniel E. Kelly

Daniel E. Kelly was born in New York August 4,1927 to Daniel and Mary Bourne Kelly. He had three sisters Gwendolyn, Mary and Carol. In Rye his family lived at 19 Elm St. and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Daniel was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1945.

He enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

After his discharge on August 15, 1946, Daniel returned to his studies graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy with a B. S. degree in industrial management engineering, .

He married Florence Marie Simson June 6, 1951, officiated by Rt. Rev. Msgr. McGowan in the Church of the Resurrection. Following a reception at the Larchmont Shore Club, the couple went by plane to Bermuda to spend a week at Elbow Beach.

Florence would teach in Riverside, Conn. and the couple would reside In Stamford, Conn.. Daniel was an engineer at the Boots Aircraft Nut Corporation.
