John J. Donohue

John J. Donohue was born Sept 28 1912 to John James Donohue and Elizabeth Terrell Donohue. He had six sisters. In Rye his family lived at 47 Oakwood Avenue and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. he was a 1928 graduate of Resurrection School.

John enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

A veteran of World War II he served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Europe for three years.

John was unmarried. After the war he spent many years working with a landscape company. He also had been a chauffeur for Erickson Market. He was a Rye resident for 46 years.

John James Donohue Jr, 54 , died May 3, 1967 at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains. He had bear a patient there since April 17.

At the time of his death, in addition to his mother, he was survived by six sisters Mrs. Mary Mathieson, Mrs. Florence Bugniazet and Miss Elisabeth Donohue all of Rye and Mrs. Helen Doherty and Mrs. Margaret Mauro of Harrison and Mrs. Elaine Robson of Greenville, SC
