BIOGRAPHY
 
John S. Branch was born in Kentucky in 1908. In Rye his family lived at 54 Purchase St.. John enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

John S. Branch, 59, of 40 Chauncey Avenue, New Rochelle, died suddenly Sunday in New Rochelle Hospital. He was the son of Walter Branch of Rye and the late Ada Wilson Branch. Mr. Branch, who attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., was employed for 23 years, as a sky cap with the East Side Airline Terminal in New York City.

During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific. In addition to his father, survivors include his wife, Mami Scholl, whom he married in New Rochelle in April of 1944; their four children; Guy of the home address, Patricia Mohammed of New Rochelle, Mrs. Ann Turner of Port Chester, and Mrs. Sandra Midon of Embudo, N.M.; and five grandchildren.
