Nicholas L. Mainero

Nicholas L. Mainero was born in New York in November 17,1912 to Antonio and Grace Russon Mainero. He had two sisters Lena and Lucy and two brothers Angelo and Pasquale. In Rye his family lived on 47 High St and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Nicholas enlisted in 1941 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

After the war, Nicholas was Park Director for the Town of Rye. He was a member and past Commander of the American Legion, Post #128 in Rye. He was a board member of the Holy Name Society of Resurrection Church and a Member of the board of the Rye Triple A.

Nicholas retired was a resident of Florida for 24 years. He was a member of the Pacers in Jupiter, FL, the Senior Citizens of Jupiter and Tequesta, and volunteered at the Jupiter Medical Center Thrift Shop.


Nicholas L. Mainero 90, of Juno Beach, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at the Waterford Health Care Center.

At the time of his death, survivors included his sister, Lucille Mainero of Juno Beach; and two nephews: Richard Miner of Greensboro, NY, and Robert Miner of New Canaan, CT.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, May 12, 2003 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Jupiter, followed by entombment at Riverside Memorial Park, Tequesta.
