BIOGRAPHY
 
William Karpluk was born in New York in 1916. In Rye his family lived at 49 Windsor Road, Port Chester. William enlisted in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

William Karpluk, of 49 Windsor Road, Port Chester, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died December 18, 2010.

He was ninety-four and was born August 29, 1916 in Port Chester to the late Peter and Anna Ushkevich Karpluk. He graduated from Port Chester High School, Class of 1934.

After serving four years in the Army Air Corp during World War II, he enrolled at New York University and graduated with a BS in Business Administration in 1949. He was married on December 21, 1946 to Frances Elias.

Mrs. Karpluk died April 11, 1990. Mr. Karpluk was a comptroller for the Metrodyne Corporation in Stamford, CT for many years and worked for several other local companies in the area. He was a member of the Port Chester High School Alumni Association, and a member of the National Association of Accountants. He was an avid gardener known in his neighborhood for his roses. He was also a avid golfer and traveler having made trips to Russia with his sons.

Mr. Karpluk is survived by his sons Richard Karpluk of Ballston Lake, NY and Kenneth Karpluk of Norwalk, CT and sister Vera Davis of Port Chester, NY.
