Lincoln Burgess was born in Portchester, New York on March 16th, 1934. He lived at 131 Purchase Street, in Rye, NY. He was raised by his parents Evart and Josephine along with his two sisters. In high school, Lincoln participated in a number of clubs and sports like chorus, the marching band, track, and basketball. He was also a messenger and a G.O. rep in the 11th grade. Lincoln graduated from Rye High school in 1953. He proudly served the US Army in the Korean war. Lincoln then went on to get married, have kids, and settle in Rye as a custodian at Rye High School. For many years he took great pride in artfully decorating the endzones before each home football game.
