Mary S. Harvey was born in Ohio in 1905. In Rye his family lived on Haron Ave and were members of the Presbyterian Church. Mary enlisted and served in the U.S. Army as a nurse during World War II.

Mrs. Mary E. S. Harvey, 85 Theodore Fremd Avenue, has been appointed a second lieutenant in the Army Nurse's Corps. She is the wife of Walter Harvey, now engaged in government work in Nashville, Tenn., and is taking basic naming in Atlantic City prior to service as an Army nurse. Mrs. Harvey is a graduate of Northfield School and trained at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York, to become a registered nurse.
