Frederick R. Perry was born in New York in 1922. In Rye his family lived at 37 New Street. Frederick enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Frederick R. Perry, 87 passed away February 9, 2010 at Sentara Careplex Hospital, Hampton, VA.

Frederick was born in Pleasantville, New Jersey on October 30, 1922.

He enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17. In 1952 he transferred to the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years of service.

Frederick was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Bertha Agnes Perry. He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Antoine of Uniondale, New York; his daughter Deborah ( Charles III) Adams of Yorktown, VA; his sons, Stephen (Anne) Perry of Goldsboro, NC; Gregory Perry of Yorktown, VA, Wendell ( Theresa) Perry of Newport News, VA and Joel Perry of Portsmouth ,VA; 18 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of friends and family that loved him dearly.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel Thursday, February 18, 2010 . A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon Friday, February 19, 2010 at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be at Hampton National Cemetery.
