Urwin James Magill was born in New York in 1914. In Rye his family lived on Elmwood Ave. Urwin enlisted and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Magill Again On Randolph Staff Roy Randolph, owner and operator of the dance studio bearing his name, took pleasure this week in announcing the return of Urwin Magill to his staff of teachers in the Village. Magill has just been discharged from the Army Air Force and will start instructions in Samba. Rhumba, Tango and the latest ballroom dances. He has toured South America as a dancer and teacher and has appeared in the movies with Mr. Randolph and also was on his staff at the Ambassador hotel in Los Angeles. He will, assisted by Sally Nagel, also of the Randolph staff, inaugurate a series of �champagne nights� at the most popular night spots in the Village.
