STANTEN, MARY LEWIS Mary Lewis "Honey" Stanten, age 86, and longtime resident of Maui, Hawaii, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Honolulu on Saturday, January 16, 2010. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Fred and Lillie Lewis the family relocated to San Diego when Mary was a teenager. She later attended Lake Forest College in Illinois where she met Arthur George Stanten Jr. They were married in San Diego on May 19, 1945. For many years, Mary devoted herself to various charity organizations in San Diego while raising her family. In 1978, she made Maui her full-time residence until shortly before her passing. She would tell you when asked why she moved to the islands... "this is where my feet feel at home." Mary is survived by her son William (Bill) Stanten of San Diego and wife Sandy; daughter Sarah (Sally) Rodriguez of Honolulu and husband Richard; and granddaughters Avery and Ana Rosier, also of Honolulu. We would like to thank all extended family and friends who loved our mother and for being a part of her life. Mother is resting with her father at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery Point Loma. Aloha nui loa a hui hou, Mary
