Alexander B. Andrew

Alexander B. Andrew was born January 10, 1911, Greenwich, CT, he was the son of the late John B. and Jemina G. Andrew of Rye, NY. Alexander graduated from the Rye High School in 1931 and attended the University of Miami and Ohio University. He had three brothers and in Rye his family lived at 199 Purchase St.




Alexander B Andrew enlisted in the Army on September 23, 1942, in New York City, New York, during World War II. He was 30 years old and served with the Army of the United States in Panama.

After the war, he married Marian Winkleman in 1952. Alexander was a long time employee of the U.S. IRS Judicial Branch and served under many of the IRS judges as a court stenographer.

Alexander B. Andrew, of Arlington, VA, formerly of Rye, NY, died May 15, 2004 in the Arlington Nursing Home, Arlington, VA. He was 92 years old. He died of natural causes.

He was survived by one brother William Andrew of Stamford, CT and was predeceased by his wife Marian Winkleman Andrew and two brothers John G. Andrew of Greenwich, CT and Bruce Andrew of North Miami, FL. Burial was private in the Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye, NY.
