Thomas J. Carey

Thomas Joseph "Tom" Carey was born on May 30, 1918, in New York, his father, Thomas, was 34 and his mother, Kathleen, was 23. He had two brothers and one sister. Per the 1940 Census, at the age of 21, Thomas J was the oldest of 4 children in the household. Thomas J's father was 56 and his mother was 45. Thomas J's father had a college education, while his mother had a high school education. Thomas J's father and mother were born in Irish Free State. Thomas J and his siblings were born in New York. In Rye his family lived at 44 Meadow Place and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Thomas was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1936. He enlisted in 1943 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He died on February 15, 1996, in San Diego, California, at the age of 77, and was buried there.
