William Joseph Wahl


William Joseph Wahl was born on February 25, 1928, in Rye, New York, to Blanche Lowe, age 30, and John Wahl, age 33. He had one brother William and one sister Marjorie and in Rye his family lived at 21 Oakwood Ave.

William attended a Rye High School where he was a percussionist with the band. He graduated as a member of the Class of 1945, although he had left school early so he could enlist and serve his country.



William enlisted March 26, 1945 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He went thru basic training at Paris Island and later was stationed at Camp Lejeune and Washington Dc . See Muster Rolls

William was honorably discharges as a private first class on August 23, 1946. View Discharge Record

After his discharge he returned home and attended the Manhattan Conservatory of Music. William married Lee Ann Wanberg on Saturday February 10, 1951. He was then working for A G Spalding & Brothers Inc. of New York City.

William Joseph Wahl died on November 2, 1986, in San Diego, California, at the age of 58.
