Warren F. Haven

Warren F. Haven was born in Mount Vernon, NY March 9, 1927, son of Frank and Margaret Johansen Haven. In Rye his family lived at 51 Elmwood Ave. Warren was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1945.

He graduated high school early and enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Warren would serve 1 1/2 years before his honorable discharge. He returned to Rye and in early December 1948 married Jean N Daur. The couple would have three children during their marriage and eventually settle in Westport CT.

He was a self employed tool and die maker at his family owned company Haven Manufacturing in Bridgeport and worked for Hershey Metal Products after his retirement. Warren was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed restoring antique clocks in his spare time.

He was a Westport, CT resident for many years before moving to Oxford in 1990.

Warren F. Haven, age 82, of Oxford, entered into rest on Friday, September 18, 2009 in Bishop Wicke Health Care in Shelton, CT.

He was the beloved father of Scott Haven and his wife Suzi of Milford, and Brent Haven, and his wife Susan of Westport. He also leaves 8 loving grandchildren. Chris Haven, Cindi Corris, Nick Haven, C.J. Haven, Melanie Haven, Kelly McCulley, Tina McCulley,and Fawn Soper, and also leaves 11 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife Jean Daur Haven, and 2nd wife Elizabeth Haven and his daughter Lynn Warr.

Friends were invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday Oct. 10, 2009 1p.m. in the Norfield Congregational Church, 64 Norfield Road Weston .
