He served M months with the US Navy during World War II retiring as full commander on the light cruiser USS Columbia A 1911 graduate of Phillip Academy in Andovtr Mara he was graduated from Yale University in IMS and from Law School three yean later He was a member of DKE and the Qihu Society at Yale the Yale Club ot New York City the A paw arris Chib the Rye Historical Society and the Society of Philatelists A member of the Rye Presbyterian Charch ha was also a former member of the Manutsing Island Onb aad was for some pi a district leader tor the lye Republicaa Club and secretary of Keep America Beau-tlfalia New York City At Yale he was on the varsity swimming and diving teams He started with American Can as an attorney rose to general counsel then secretary vice president and director before becoming vice president and corporate secretary

Henry is survived by his wife the former Evelyn Ear le two sons Peter Robert of Ithaca NY and Douglas of Milwaukee a daughter Susan Earle Henry of Denver a brother Donald W of Middle-bury Conn two sisters Mrs Eloise (Walter) Crandell of Hanover Nil and Mrs Mar garet (Griffith) Jones of Washington Depot Conn and a granddaughter in Ithaca
