Thomas Edward Gargan

Thomas Edward Gargan was born on September 15, 1924, in Rye, New York, to Hannah Sarah Ormiston, age 32, and Michael J Gargan, age 30. He had two brothers John and James.

In Rye his family lived at 100 Grace Church St and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Thomas attended Our Lady of Mercy elementary school in Port Chester and was a graduate of Rye High School, Class of 1944.

He worked for more than 30 years in the production department of the Homelite Corp. in Greenwich, CT. He later worked several years for Abbott. Coin Co. in Stamford, Conn.

A golf lover, Mr. Gargan helped organize the Limerick Open, an annual tournament in Rye.

Thomas E, Gargan of Port Chester, a village native, died Sunday May 11, 1986 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx after a long illness. He was 61. He was a member of the Church of Our Lady of Mercy in Port Chester.

He was survived by a brother, James M. of Port Chester.
