Charles G. Kedney

When Charles Gordon Kedney was born on September 3, 1918, in Port Chester, New York, his father, John, was 30 and his mother, Eleanor, was 31. In Rye his family lived at 189 Purchase Street and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. He had six siblings sisters Winifred and Agnes and brothers Peter (Roy), John, Donald and Kenneth Charles was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1938. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, having served in Europe. He was an aviation marhinest mate third class, Seaman 1st class AMM, Enlistment Date 1: 1 Jul 1943 - Release Date 1: 5 Mar 1946
He married Veronica A. "Snooky" Haviland on January 27, 1955, in Harrison, New York.

Charles G. Kedney, son of Joh n T. Kedney, 189 Purchase Street; has completed his training at the aviation machinist's mate school, Naval Air Technical Training Center, Memphis, Tenn. He is a graduate of Rye High School and also attended Bridgeport State Trade School. He was employed as a mechanic at Chance Vought Aircraft Company before entering service June 24, 1943.
