Michael J. Belluscio


Michael J. Belluscio (Mike) was born in New York December 17, 1920 to Vito and Carmela Isoldi Belluscio. He had two brothers Frank and Joseph and two sisters Dana and Anne.

In Rye his family lived at 352 Midland Ave and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Michael was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1940.

As a teenager had been an outstanding athlete at Rye HS. Following graduation Mike channeled his energies into boxing and as a professional took on several top light-heavy and heavyweight contenders prior to World War II.

Mike enlisted and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.


Michael J. Belluscio was part owner of Belluscio's Restaurant in Rye. For most of his life Mike worked at the restaurant established by his family in 1933.

He was married to Adrienne Kelly at the Church of the Resurrection in 1968. Mike was a lifelong Rye resident, a member of the American Legion and Rye Golf Club.

Mike was known to many in Rye and was a true gentleman.





Michael J. Belluscio died Saturday November 30, 1985 at United Hospital in Portchester . He was 65

At the time of his death he was survived by his wife and his five children Lara, Michael, Daniel, Andrew and Emily. He was also survived by two brothers Frank of Rye Brook and Joseph of marianna FL and a sister Anne Woodtke of Rye.
