BIOGRAPHY
 
William N. Berech was born in New York in 1911. In Rye his family lived at 60 North Post Rd.. William served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II.

William N. Bereck was a graduate of Rye High School, Class of 1931. He was a Captain in the U. S. Army and was a personal aide to General Mark Clark in the European Theater of Operations. Rye High School Graduate, class of 1931

BERECH, WILLIAM N. - William N. Berech a resident of Rye Brook, NY died Saturday December 2, 2000. He was 89 years old and born in Rudka, Ukraine on February 12, 1911 to the late Nikita and Olga Gutovskaya Berech. He graduated from Rye High School and went on to graduate from Columbia University in 1935.

Mr. Berech served in the US Army in World War II and rose to the rank of Captain. He was a personal aid to General Mark Clark in the ETO. After his discharge from the Army he entered the advertising industry. He retired in 1969 as a Senior Vice President of a major Advertising Agency. In 1968 he met and married Mildred Curto of Valley Stream, NY.

Mr. Berech is survived by his loving wife, Mildred Berech, and his devoted son, Chip Berech both of Rye Brook, NY. He is also survived by his nephew, Bill Archer of Old Lyme, CT., and niece, Libby Archer of Middletown, CT.

Visitation will be at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. today December 5th from 2-4 and 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Willett Ave., Port Chester, NY on Wednesday December 6 at 9:30AM.
