There is an incorrect listing under my uncle Bill’s post. He was the son of Thomas Francis Donohue ,not Samuel Donahue. I also lived at 37 Elm Place growing up in Rye, as did my Uncle Bill, along with my grandmother  (Mary Balls Donohue who raised me)and Aunt Doris Donahue. Samuel was the name of one of my grandmothers  brothers (Samuel Balls).  Thomas C Donahue was my father who is also listed in ryevets. The original family name was spelled Donohue, however later on the spelling changed to Donahue ( have never found an explanation as to WHY). I was quite frankly surprised to see Uncle Bill’s (William) name listed on your site as I was never told that he had served.Having been born in 1926 he was very young to have served during the War?
