 Donald A. Fraser
Donald Alexander Fraser was born on June 19, 1912, in Rye, New York, to Emma Furguson Fraser, age 26, and Duncan Alexander Fraser, age 28. In Rye his family lived on Kirby Lane.
He married Miss Marjorie Rose Dempsey, of Colonial Heights, Tuckahoe on January 26, 1942. The wedding took place at the Gramatan Hotel in Bronxville and was followed by a wedding breakfast attended by 25 friends of the couple. The Rev. Father Delaney, of the Immaculate Conception Church of Tuckahoe, officiated.
At the time Donald was associated with the Linde Air Products Company in Brooklyn. After their honeymoon they made their home in Tuckahoe and started a family
Donald enlisted May 20, 1942 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was an airplane mechanic who rose to the rank of sergeant. He was honorably discharged December 4, 1945.
Below is from his granddaughter Pam "Donald Fraser (Pop to his family) was born on June 19, 1912 in Bedford NY. He grew up in Rye NY. He served in WWII as an airplane mechanic then worked for Beech Nut for many years until he took early retirement in the 1960's.
He moved to Florida in 1968 with his wife Marge who he married in 1942. They had two kids, Donna and James Fraser.
I am his grandaughter Pam Kandefer-Povlin. (Donna's daughter.) He called me his ''Bambino.'' He was the sweetest, funniest, kindest man I have ever known. He was a grandpa and a best friend all rolled into one. I miss him dearly and thank God for every day I had with him. I will always remember his funny stories and that smile that lit up like the sun. I love you Pop! I still play White Christmas for you every year. I will never forget you."
Donald Alexander Fraser died on April 24, 1997, in Jupiter, Florida, at the age of 84
