John Lakatosh

John Lakatosh was born May 28, 1916 in Taylor, PA to Mary Krivak and Nicholas Lakatosh. He had three brothers and three sisters. John was raised and educated in Taylor and was an honor student.

By 1940 John had moved to Rye and was living at 12 Richard Place. He was employed by the city and was working at Town Hall (Square House). John was also very active playing sports in Rye, especially softball.

John enlisted October 28, 1942 and served as a sergeant in the US Army Air Force. He was awarded the Air Medal and was honorably discharged December 11, 1945.

John married Miss Marie Widdick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Widdick, 116 Oak St., Taylor, PA in January 1948. The Rev. Robert Mugrew performed the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Belcastro were the attendants and a breakfast and reception followed at the home of the bride.

In 1950 John and Marie were living in East Whiteland, PA and had started a family. John was working as a soil conservationist for the government.

John Lakatosh died May 10, 1991 at the age of 74 and is buried in Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Cemetery, West Goshen Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, USA
