Early Life

Tyler Conway was born on November 8, 1994, in Rye, New York, the son of Dan and Michelle LaDore Conway. He grew up in the Milton Point section of Rye alongside his twin brother, Gavin, and his brother, Ryan.

He attended Milton School, Rye Middle School, and Rye High School, graduating with the Class of 2012. During both middle school and high school, he was a member of the wrestling team and served as team captain during his senior year.

Military Service

Following high school, Conway enlisted in the United States Army, serving from September 2014 to February 2019. He served as a machine gunner with the 75th Ranger Regiment, specifically with the 3rd Ranger Battalion, one of the Army’s elite special operations combat units operating under U.S. Special Operations Command.

The 3rd Ranger Battalion specialized in direct action missions, counterterrorism operations, airfield seizures, and rapid deployment combat operations. During Conway’s period of service, Ranger units were heavily engaged in sustained combat and special operations missions in Afghanistan and other areas of conflict.

Conway deployed to Afghanistan in support of ongoing combat operations, serving in high-risk environments alongside other special operations forces. His service earned him the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB), an award presented to infantry soldiers who actively engaged in ground combat while serving under hostile fire.

In addition to the CIB, his service likely included eligibility for decorations such as the Afghanistan Campaign Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, along with unit citations recognizing the operational achievements of the Ranger Regiment during the Global War on Terrorism.

Life After Service

Following his military service, Conway worked for approximately four and a half years as a private military contractor, serving on security details supporting government operations across the Middle East.

He currently serves as a firefighter in Rye, New York, and remains a lifelong resident of the community.
