Albert F. Free


Albert F. Free was born in New York in 1921 to Albert and Agnes Whelan Free. He had one brother Newton. Their mother Agnes died in 1928, when Albert was seven.


Their father would remarry and in Rye the family lived on Glendale Road and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.

Albert attended Iona Prep and graduated All Hollows High School , Class of 1937.
Albert enlisted November 6, 1942 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He served as a Private First Class and was honorably discharged November 13, 1945 after three years of service.


After he war, Albert returned home an earned his degree in Business from Boston College.

He married Elinor P. Kelley on September 30. 1950 at St Lawrence Church in Chestnut Hill, MA. The couple would make their home in Boston and start a family.

Albert F. Free died October 13, 2000 and is buried in Houston Texas National Cemetery.
