Alexander Hayden Ardrey, Jr. Alexander Hayden Ardrey, Jr. 89, of Lynchburg, Va. died on Monday, April 2, 2012. He was the husband of Marie-Th‚r�se Ardrey. Alex was born on August 10, 1922, in Des Moines, IA, the son of the late Alexander Hayden Ardrey and Evelyn Miller Ardrey. He proudly served our country in the US Army during World War II and was retired from Chase Manhatten Bank where he was a loan officer. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Marie-Lucie McTighe of Afton, VA; Jacqueline Juhasz of Wilton, CT; Alice Bucher of Aurora, CO; Elliott Ardrey of Palmyra, Va; two sisters; Evelyn Mumm of Sylva, NC; Mary Secary of Ft. Myers, FL, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Westminster Canterbury chapel. Reverend Todd Vie will officiate. A reception will follow at 3:00 PM in the Hume Room.
