 Dr. Anthony Vernon Sisca
Dr. Anthony Vernon Sisca was born on April 15, 1908, in Harrison, New York the son of Angelo and Rosina Sisca. He was raised and educated in Harrison and had three brothers and four sisters. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1927, during which time he was active in athletics. He received his pre-medical education at Fordham.
He married Margaret Ella Lentz on March 31, 1936, in District of Columbia. They had two children during their marriage. In Rye his family lived at 195 Purchase Street.
Dr. Sisca received his training at the George Washington Medical School, Washington, D.C. and his undergraduate degree from Notre Dame University. He interned at St. Agnes Hospital, did his surgical residency at Bellevue Hospital, New York City, and returned to St. Agnes in 1937.
He served as a medical officer in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Lt. Anthony V. Sisca Now at Carlisle Barracks Lt. Anthony V. Sisca, Medical Corps, a peacetime physician of Rye, has been sent from Sheppard Field, Texas, to Carlisle Barracks, Pa. , to attend a medical field service school. Upon completion of the course, which will last approximately one month, Lieutenant Sisca will return to Sheppard Field for duty.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 - 1946 and was a graduate of the School of Aviation Medicine. He was a flight surgeon in the European theater and received seven combat stars and was discharged as a major in the medical corps.
After his honorable discharge, Dr. Sisca returned home and resumed his medical career. He practiced medicine in Rye until 1954 when moved his office to 55 Harrison Avenue.
In 1949 he was made a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In 1960 he was appointed director of surgery by the governing board of St. Agnes hospital. He was also president of the medical staff at the hospital.
A lifelong resident of Harrison, he was member of the school board for nine years and chairman in 1958. Dr. Sisca was active in Republican politics and was candidate for the nomination for county legislator in the 6th district in 1969. Although he was never directly active in Harrison town government, it was rumored in 1964 that he might run for U. S. representative from the 26th 1 District against Ogden Reid.
Formerly medical civil defense director of Harrison, he was a member of the Westchester County Medical Society, the Westchester County Academy of Medicine and the New York Medical Society, He was also a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
Dr. Anthony Vernon Sisca, 62, former chief of staff of St. Agnes Hospital, White Plains, and former president of the Harrison School Board of District 6 died February 17, 1971, at St. Agnes Hospital, after a long illness.
He was predeceased by his first wife Margaret Sisca and was survived by his wife, the former Matilda Risoli, whom he married Sept. 8, 1970.
At the time of his death, in addition to his wife, he was survived by a son, Anthony Sisca III of Harrison; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Fiermonte of Mount Vernon; three brothers, Philip C. of Harrison: Joseph J.
of Harrison and Ernest P. of Rye; four sisters, Louise Clark of Harrison, Mrs. Joseph (Yolanda) Gasperino of Harrison: Mrs. Felix (Catherine) Moccia of Hartsdale and Mrs. Nicholas (Theresa) Saccamano of Port Chester; one grandson, 10 nephews and nine nieces..
