Douglas Vought was born in New York in 1923. In Rye his family lived on Forest Avenue and were members of Christ Church. Douglas enlisted and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Eckardf Engaged To Sergeant Douglas Vought Mr. and Mrs. Max Eckardt, of Sterling Road, announce the engagement, and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Miss Jean Dorothy Eckardt, to Sergeant Douglas Vought, Jr. , serving with the Army Air Corps, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Vought, Forest Avenue. Sergeant Vought is a graduate of Taft School and attended Wesleyan University before enlisting. The wedding is to take place on March 3rd at Christs Church.
