BIOGRAPHY
Frank Trowbridge James
Frank Trowbridge James was born on September 21, 1885, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Susan Ella Wellington, age 35, and Charles James, age 37. He had three brothers and three sisters. Frank was raised and educated in Cambridge and was a graduate of Harvard University.
He spent ten years in the Philippine Islands in the engineering and contracting business. Frank resigned his position as chief engineer of the National Coal company of Manila, to enlist in the US Army.
He returned to this country after being commissioned a captain of engineers in the Army and serve in WWI. After his discharge from the army he went into business in New York. He married Marion Agnes Niles on June 21, 1919, in Willimantic, Connecticut. They had three children during their marriage.
After working for Edison Corporation in East Orange, N. J, Frank and his family moved to Westchester County, NY. They lived in Rye, Pelham and White Plains. In Rye his family lived at 521 Forrest Ave.
Frank served during World War II and is listed on the Rye City Hall Honor Roll. He spent many years working as City Engineer in White Plains. His wife Marion passed away in 1942 and a few years later, Frank moved back to Massachusetts.
By the time of his daughters wedding in 1956, he had retired and was living in Miami, FL.
Frank Trowbridge James died Friday September 16, 1966 in Hollywood, FL.
