Frank N. Carpenter was born in New York in Date Unknown. In Rye his family lived on Park Lane and were members of Christ Church. Frank served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Lieut. Frank N. Carpenter, Jr. , U. S. A. , who has been home on leave with Mrs. Carpenter and their little daughter, Ronnie, of Park Lane, departed yesterday for Camp Wheeler, Ga.

FRANCIS NEWTON CARPENTER - 95, of Delray Beach, Florida and formally of Greenwich, Connecticut passed away on November 27, 2006.

Mr. Carpenter was educated at Collegiate School in New York City, attended Williams College and received his BA degree from the University of Virginia. He served as a captain in the second infantry division during WWII.

He was president of Shulton International and chairman and chief executive officer of Westey Associates. Mr. Carpenter was active in retirement as president of the Gulf Stream Bath and Tennis Club, president of the Board of Trustees of Gulf Stream School, and a member of the Vestry of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He was a former governor of the Apawamis Club in Rye, New York and the Gulfstream Golf Club, in Gulf Stream, Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hayward Carpenter, two daughters: Mrs. Patricia Carpenter Carey, Mrs. Hillary Carpenter Lynch, three sons: Mr. Edward Brewster Prindle, Mr. Francis Newton Carpenter, and Mr. Timothy Knowlton Carpenter, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 188 S. Swinton Ave, Delray Beach on Friday, December 1, 2006, 11AM An additional service and internment will be held at Christ Church Greenwich, CT on Dec 8, 2006, 2:30PM. In lieu of flowers a contribution may be made to Hospice by the Sea, 1531 W. Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33486. Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, Delray Beach in charge of arrangements.
