Frank P. Miller

Frank P. Miller was born March 17, 1911, in Port Chester, N. Y. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Miller. He was raised and educated in Port Chester a graduate of Port Chester High School.

In 1940 he was working for the Homelite Corp and in Rye his family lived at 260 Purchase Street.

Frank enlisted May 3, 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Frank P. Miller, 31, of 260 Purchase Street, who enlisted in the U. S. Naval Reserve with the rating of machinists mate, first class, has reported for training at the Great Lakes U. S. Naval Training Station.

He spent three and a half years in Navy service, stationed for 26 months In the South Pacific area as chief petty officer. He was honorably discharged September 20,1945.

After the war Frank was superintendent of the Beach Point Club in Mamaroneck. He married Miss Stella Jonsdotter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Christian of Reykjavik, Iceland, Sunday July 6, 1947 in Greenwich. Conn.

After a stint in Hawaii, the couple moved to Seattle WA, where Frank was a machinist. After his retirement he moved to South Whidbey, WA. He was a member of the South Whidbey American Legion Post 141, South Whidbey Port Commission, the Eagles Lodge VFW and the Historical Society of South Whidbey.

Frank P. Miller Frank P. Miller, formerly of Seattle, WA., died April 28, 1985, at his home in South Whidbey, WA.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Stella; two sisters, Rose Bohacs of Greenwich, Conn. and Helen Walters of Pearl River, LA; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held at the American Legion Hall, South Whidbey, with Pastor Marvin Knutzen officiating.
