Herman Friedrich

Herman Friedrich was born in Hamburg, Germany May 11, 1911. In Rye his family lived at 88 Sound View Avenue.

Herman enlisted March 17, 1943 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war he married Mary Park and the couple would have two children.

Herman was a baker by trade and for many years was owner and operator of a bake shop on Purchase Street. He was very active in the American Legion Rye Post 128. In the early 1950's, Herman and his family relocated to Hialeah FL.

Herman Friedrich a former resident of Rye for many years died Nov 22, 1971 at Veterans Hospital in Miami FL. He was 60 years old. Friedrich had resided in Hialeah FL for the past 18 years prior to which he had lived in Rye and was owner and operator of a bake shop on Purchase Street

His wife the former Mary Park predeceased him. He was survived by a son Herman Jr and daughter Mrs. David Baxley both of Hialeah a nephew and several nieces Including Mrs. Janette Lowry of Rye
