H. Stanley Goodwin

Homer "Stanley" Goodwin was born on May 23, 1901, in South Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to Alice Maud Dunning, age 29, and Leonard Goodwin, age 30. He was a graduate of the Kent school and Princeton University. In Rye his family lived at 66 Milton Rd (Blindbrook Apts) and were members of Christ Church.

Stanley married Mary Law Brown January 6, 1939 and they would have two children. Before the war, Stanley was working at City Bank Farmers Trust in New York City

He enlisted and served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

After the war he continued his career in banking and the family had moved to Bronxville. In the early 1960' they moved to Deep River, CT

He worked many years and retired from McKesson and Robins Drug company of New York and he was a member of the Deep River Historical Society.

H. Stanley Goodwin of Deep River. CT former resident of Rye, died Sept. 11 1973 in Middlesex Memorial Hospital, Middletown, Conn.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, the former Barbara Bill Miller, a son, Dr. Stanley Goodwin, a daughter. Mrs. Richard Manning and two step-daughters, Mrs. Donald A. Adley and Mrs. Nancy Connolly
