James Orr Kyle

James Orr Kyle was born on August 10, 1917, in New York to Elizabeth Connolly, age 35, and James Orr Kyle, age 50. In Rye his family lived 8 Cowles Ave and were members of the Presbyterian Church. James was a 1935 graduate of Rye High School and attended Union College where he was a member of the swim team.

He married Miss Merry Catherine Ackerman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Ackerman, of Cincinnati, on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 1941 in the study of the Rev. Harry G. Hill, of the New Thought Temple in Cincinnati.

The bride was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. The couple lived temporarily in Cincinnati, where James was a representative of J. Livingston and Co., and Fischbach and Moore, of New York City, who are doing electrical work at the Wright Aeronautical Plant..

He enlisted and served during World War II and his name is on the Rye City Hall Honor Roll.

By 1950, James and his wife had moved to California and were parents of two children. He was employed in the aluminum products industry as a salesman.

James Orr Kyle, 48, of 2708 Danville Blvd., Alamo, Calif, died on March 8, 1966. He was a past master of the San Ramon Valley Masonic Lodge 724.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Mrs. Merry Kyle; a daughter, Mrs. Sue Mompellier of Walnut Creek, Calif.; a son, Michael of Alamo his mother Mrs. James Kyle: and one sister, Mrs. Charlotte Schramm, both of Bronxville and Sag Harbor, N. Y.
