John Gordon Bell


John G. Bell was born in New York July 2,1927 to John and Alice Greenwood Cleaves Bell. He had one younger brother Richrd and in Rye his family lived at 11 Pine Lane.

John graduated from the Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. He enlisted in June 26, 1945 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. (View Muster Rolls) He had his basic training at Paris Island and was honorably discharged as a PFC October 26,1946.

After the war John resumed his education under the GI Bill and graduated Yale University, class of '50. He then graduated from Albany Medical College, class of '55 and interned at Denver General Hospital.

He married Miss Suzanne Lee Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick F. Clark, to Dr. John Gordon Bell, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Bell of Bethel, Conn., formerly of Rye, took place October 25, 1955 at the Church of the Advent, Westbury , L. I. The Rev. Frederic Underwood officiated.
