John T. Donovan was born in New York in 1915. In Rye his family lived at 260 Purchase Street and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. John enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

JOHN T. DONOVAN A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at the Church of the Resurrection for John Thomas Donovan of 5 Fairlawn Street, who died Friday at Stamford Hospital. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. A Rye resident for many years, he was born Sept. 9, 1915 in New York City, son of the late John Thomas and Mary Frances Killian Donovan. He was employed as a sales manager with Appliance and Kitchen Centers, Inc. of Darien. A graduate of Rye High School, he was a member of the Church of the Resurrection and the Rye Golf Club. He was one of the organizers of the Limerick Golf Tournament in Rye and a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Clara Cavalea Donovan of the home address, a daughter, Mrs. Charles Morgan of Rye, a son, John Thomas Jr., of New Rochelle, a granddaughter, and a brother James Patrick of Purchase.
