BIOGRAPHY
 
John T. Mc Cann was born in New York in 1912. In Rye his family lived on Highland Hall and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. John enlisted in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

JOHN T. McCANN A Mass of Christian Burial was held June 12 at the Church of the Resurrection for John Thomas McCann, 65, of Highland Hall, who died June 8 at United Hospital. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. He was born Sept. 21, 1012 in New York City, son of the late Christophe r and Ellen Moran McCann. He attended Greenwich schools and was a graduate of Greenwich High School. He was employed in the sales department of Yale A Towne Manufacturing Co. in Stamford until the firm moved from the area. A resident of Rye since 1942, he was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific area. He was a former member of the Rye Fire Department and a member of the Church of the Resurrection. He is survived by his wife. Janet Coughlin McCann of the home address; a son, Kevin McCann of Staten Island; two sisters, Mrs. Mary McDonald and Miss Eleanor McCann, both of Fishkill. N. Y. He was predeceased by a brother, Bernard McCann.
