  Louis C. Jensen
Louis Carl Jensen, was born on December 6, 1926, in Port Chester, New York, to Hazel Grigg, age 30, and Louis Carl Jenson, age 37. He was raised and educated in Rye and his family lived at 3 Hill Street.
Louis enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served two years in the Navy and his service number was 712 56 06.

Recognition as eligible to qualify for the petty officer rate of motor machinists mate third class came to Blue-jacket Louis C. Jensen, Jr. , 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Jensen, 3 Hill Street, Rye, during recent graduation ceremonies at the Naval Training School Diesel located at the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Navy Pier, Chicago, IL, Now awaiting active duty orders to sea or to some shore station, Jensen is now a fireman second class.

 Louis, like his "father before him, was a volunteer firefighter. He joined the Milton Point Engine & Hose Company in June 1952. He served the company as captain in the 1960s. "He was an avid volunteer, very, very interested, very active," First Assistant Fire Chief Peter Cotter said. "He's the kind of guy you'll miss. He was always there.".
Louis worked as a plumber for many years with Odell Plumbing Co. in Rye which he retired after 20 years. The fire chief remembered him as being interested in horses and bowling.
Louis C. Jensen Jr., a lifelong Rye resident, died Monday August 17, 1992, at his home. He was 65.
He was survived by several
cousins and was buried in Greenwood Union Cemetery In Rye, NY.
