Nils Benson was born in Rye, New York on October 12, 1923 He was the son of the late Emma and Nils Benson of Rye, NY He was the brother of the late Karl Benson and sisters Anna Austin and Bertha Bixby He graduated from Rye High School and attended Syracuse University He served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific in World War II He was President of the Penn Elastic Company in New York City, a subsidiary of Courtaulds of Great Britain Nils was a former President of the Coveleigh Club in Rye, NY He was a member of the Union League Club in New York City He was also a member of the Board of Governors of the Continental Can Company He is survived by his wife, Audrey Adamson Benson, of Darien, Connecticut, his son, Andrew N Benson of Purdys, NY and daughters, Nancy McKittrick of Darien, CT and Diane Cummings, of NYC He is also survived by eight granddaughters and four great grandchildren Private interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Rye, NY - By the Family To Plant Memorial Trees in memory, please visit our Sympathy Store.
