Philip J. Peterson was born in New York July 3,1926 to Joseph and Catherine Petrucciano. He had five sisters and three brothers and in Rye his family lived at
73 Maple Avenue.

Philip was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1944. In school he was very active especially in sports playing football, basketball and baseball.

He enlisted September 20, 1944 and served two years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. His Service Number was 910-37-27 and he was honorably discharged on June 12, 1946

After his discharge, he worked for the A&P Grocery store in Port Cester, NY. Philip married Marie Minervino on May 27 1951 at St. Catherine's Church in Pelham, NY. After their wedding trip they resided in Harrison.

At the time of his marriage Philip was then working in New York for the Columbia Broadcasting System.
