Lewis Paul Bremer was born on January 13, 1915, in Maplewood, New Jersey, to Victorine Morton Carson, age 30, and Lewis Paul Bremer, age 31. He received his education there and at Hamilton College. After graduation, he taught at the Westminster School in Simsbury, Conn.

Lewis Paul Bremer married Nina Bloodgood Struthers in Rye, New York, on November 15, 1939, when he was 24 years old.

In Rye he lived with his wife’s family on Milton Road and they were members of Christ Church. Lewis served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Ensign and Mrs. L. Paul Bremer, Jr. , U. S. N. R. . are parents of a son born Wednesday at the United Hospital. Mrs. Bremer is the former Miss Nina Struthers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William W. Struthers of Milton Road. The baby is named Duncan Struthers Bremer. Ensign Bremer is on sea duty.

After the war, L. Paul and family moved from Rye to New Canaan and he entered private business. He was for many years President of Christian Dior Perfumes of America.

Later, he served as a consultant to the Atlantic Cement Company. L. Paul was an active sportsman and many times golfing club champion at the New Canaan Country Club.

L. Paul Bremer, Jr. of New j Canaan, a former Rye resident, died Saturday at the age of 62. A memorial service was held on Tuesday at St. Marks Church in New Canaan.

He was survived by his ; wife, Nina Struthers Bremer, his children L. Paul Bremer, III, Duncan S. Bremer. Lynette Bremer, Michael Bremer, Margaret Lloyd Brewer and by six grandchildren
