Robert Haley Jennings

Robert H. Jennings was born in Mamaroneck New York April 25, 1924 to William and Louisa Gates Jennings. He had one sister Flora. In Rye his family lived at 641 Milton Rd Rye, NY . Robert was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1942.

He enlisted December 3, 1942 and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. His Active Duty Service Number was 660038 and he served as a Motor Mechanic Mate.

Jennings Joins Coast Guard
Robert H. Jennings, son of Police Sergeant William Jennings, and Mrs. Jennings, 641 Milton Road, left this week for the U. S Coast Guard Training Station at Manhattan Beach. Before entering the service, he was tendered a party by members of the family at his home.

Robert was honorably discharged November 16, 1945.

After the war, he returned home to Rye. For many years he worked as a welder at Macton Engineering in Port Chester, NY. In 1948, he was married to his wife Berneda and they two children.

Robert Haley Jennings died September 30, 2000 in Sarasota, FL.
