 Stephen Guardino Jr.
Stephen Guardino Jr. was born Feb 8, 1914 to Stephen and Louise Mangiere Guardino in New York City He attended Cheshire Academy in Connecticut and graduated from Lafeyette College in Easton Pa in 1936 with a bachelors degree in business administration. In Rye his family lived on Park Drive South and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.
Stephen married Henrietta Iris Wigginton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Wigginton of Fredericksburg, VA, on November 1,1941 in the Church of St. Michael, Manhattan. The ceremony was performed in the presence of the immediate families by the Rev. John B. O'Connell and a reception followed at Sherry's. The couple would have two children.
Stephen enlisted October 9, 1943 in U.S. Navy during World War II. He served as a lieutenant commander on the USS Los Angeles. The third USS Los Angeles (CA-135) was a Baltimore-class heavy cruiser, laid down by the Philadelphia Navy Yard, Philadelphia, on 28 July 1943 and launched on 20 August 1944.
After a shakedown cruise out of Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, Los Angeles sailed on 15 October for the Far East via the west coast and arrived at Shanghai, China, on 3 January 1946. During the next year she operated with the 7th Fleet along the coast of China and in the western Pacific to the Marianas. She returned to San Francisco, California, on 21 January 1947, and was decommissioned at Hunters Point on 9 April 1948, and entered the Pacific Reserve Fleet.

Stephen married Barbara Lombardi in New York City in 1975. He was a member of the Downtown Athletic Club and the Westchester Country Club in Harrison, the Propeller Club, a maritime club in Manhattan and the Maritime Association in Manhattan.
Stephen P Guardino Jr a New York City resident who belonged to the Westchester Country Club since 1938 died January 23, 1991 of heart failure at Beckman Downtown Hospital in Manhattan He was 76.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife Barbara, two sons Stephen Guardino III of Tampa Fla and Henry of Fort Lauderdale Fla, a sister Lillian Chiarello of Richmond Va, three grandchildren, two nephews and five nieces.
