Don Hugh Rogers

Don Hugh Rogers was born in New York City June 2, 1902. In Rye he lived at 390 Forest Ave.

Don enlisted in October 1942 and served during World War II. At the time he was 40 years old and was one of 90 draftees to leave Rye Train Station that October. Their sendoff included a rally at Rye High School followed by a parade to the train station and speaches from local dignataries including mayor of Rye, Livingston Platt.

After his discharge he was a cook and bartender.

Don H. Rogers, 66. of 98 Carroll Street died April 16, 1969 in the Soldiers Home in Menlo Park, NJ. At the time of his death, he was survived by a sister, Mrs. Pauline Lynch of Miami Beach, Fla.

Services were held at the Buklad Memorial Home with the Rev. Monroe Drew officiating. Interment was in the Soldiers Plot of Greenwood Cemetery under direction of Edward W. Apple.
