Pierre Van NordenPierre Van Norden was born in New York City, September 29, 1926 son of Mrs. Elizabeth Salisbury Bradford Van Norden of the home address, and the late Maximilian Langdon Van Norden, founder of Van Norden and Archibald Co., New York spice importers.
He studied a t Rye Country Day School, the Avon (Conn.) School, Williams College and the University of Denver. A In Rye his family lived at 11 Seneca St. and were members of the Rye Presbyterian Church.
Pierre enlisted January 19, 1945 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He served as a Marine Corps private first class, aide to an admiral aboard the destroyer USS Los Angeles in the Far East.

He was honorable discharged December 10, 1946 after spending over 15 months overseas.

After the war, Pierre worked as a sales representative for the Connecticut Boat Co. in Greenwich, CT.
A memorial service was held at the Rye Presbyterian Church for Pierre Van Norden, thirty, of 290 Grace Church Street, who died Saturday May 18, 1957 in Kingsbridge Veterans’ Hospital, the Bronx, after an illness of two years.
At the time of his death, surviving- in addition to his mother, was a sister Mrs. Elizabeth Ann McDuffie of New York and his grandmother, Mrs. Wage r Bradford of Palo Alto Calif.
