Nancy j. Herron was born January 21st, 1928. She lived at 1305 Boston post Road, Rye NY. She was the daughter of George W Herron and Lynda Herron. She had 2 older siblings. Her brother was named Douglas herron and he was 10 years older than her. She also had a sister named Elaine Herron and she was 7 years older. She graduated in 1945 from Rye High School. During her time at Rye High School, she was very involved. She was on the Honor roll and she even gave a toast at one of the annual Mother Daughter dinners, she represented the 8th grade class. She was also honorary chairman at the Brook-Lee country club. Additionally, she participated in the May Day Pageant. During the Korean War, she served as a part of the U.S. Air Force – 3545th WAF squadron.

Nancy J. Neumeyer, 81, of Naples, FL, died June 1, 2009. Born in Rye, NY, she graduated from Middlebury, VT College with honors and served in the U.S. Air Force as a lieutenant. Nancy had a good singing voice and sang in many local churches. A resident of Naples since 1967, she retired from the Naples Daily News.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Merlin; and daughter, Lynda, both of Naples; sister, Elaine Hadley of Hilton, SC; sister-in-law, Anita Herron of Rye, NY; three nephews; and one niece.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Collier County Humane Society.
