John Thomas Lalla was born on February 14, 1915, in Rye, New York, his father, Bartolomeo, was 32 and his mother, Incoronata, was 23. In Rye his family lived at 28 High Street and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. John was educated in Rye graduating from Rye High School in 1936.
He enlisted in and was a sergeant in the Army during Word War II
John married Mildred LaRusso on Sept 15 1945 at Holy Rosary Church in Port Chester. For 40 years he lived in Greenwich, CT. They had two children during their marriage.
For 28 years Mr Lalla was a production controls manager for Arnold’s Bakery in Port Chester and Greenwich retiring in 1973
John T Lalla a former Rye and Port Chester resident and World War II Army veteran died 5/11/1993 at his home in Greenwich Conn at the age of 78. He was a communicant of Rye Resurrection ‘ ‘ Roman Catholic Church. At the time of his death in addition to his wife Mr Lalla was survived by two daughters Linda Persampieri and Marlene DeCarlo both of Greenwich and three grandchildren.
