William B. McCadden William B McCadden was born July 19 1913 to Clarence and Lizzy Carter McCadden in Hartsville TN. As a young child, he and his family moved to Louisville Ky where he grew up and graduated from Madison High School.
He married Louise Martin on July 20 1942 in Port Chester. Later that year the couple moved to Rye. William enlisted in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served in the military police until 1946.
After the service, the couple moved to Stamford Conn where William attended Wright Technical School. For many years he worked as a tool and die maker with Pitney Bowes, he retired in 1975. In 1965 the couple had moved back to Rye and his family lived at 19 Grapal St.
He was very active in the NAACP and was a member of St Frances AME Zion Church in Port Chester.
William B McCadden a retired tool and die maker died of heart failure Tuesday October 15,1991 at his Rye home. He was 78.
At the time of his death, in addition to his wife, he was survived by three nephews of Louisville, aA brother Edgar Dean McCadden, a sister Betty Lee McCadden died earlier
