Francis "Frank" Michael Losito, Jr. was born on July 31, 1928 to Frank M. Losito, head of the household, and Amelia Losito. His father worked as an auto mechanic. He lived at 22 Ellsworth Street in Rye, NY with his younger brother Joseph, as well as his two cousins Adeline and Eleanor Pughise. Frank graduated from Rye High School in 1946. He was very active in extracurricular activities. He was a member of the General Organization Assembly Committee, Junior Bridge Committee, JSS, and was vice president of the junior class. He also played many sports, including baseball, basketball, and football, where he played center. His senior year, he was part of the first basketball team in New York to travel to Maine and he was also part of an undefeated football team. Frank joined the US Navy on August 27, 1946 and was discharged on August 24, 1951.
