Rye - Michael J. Sinto of Rye, NY passed away on January 2, 2018. He is predeceased by his parents John and Mary (nee Marcone). He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Marilyn (nee Calo), sons Gregory (Mary) and Mark (Angela), and sister Marianne Rauch. Proud and loving grandfather to Sunny, Jaclynn, Stanley and Michael. Cherished brother in law to Delores (nee Calo) and Richard Tedford. Adored uncle of Richard, Janice, Steven, Douglas, Linda, and David (deceased). Loved and cherished by all other family members throughout his entire life.
Mike was a proud graduate of Rye High School Class of '49, where he was voted most friendly. This was evident as he had many cherished lifelong friends who loved him as family. Mike was a proud United States Marine Corp Veteran. He was a 35-year employee of the Harrison School District where he was loved by many, always looking out for the benefits of his fellow workers. If anyone had a problem at work with Mike, it was their fault.
Mike was a loving husband and good father who spent many hours with his sons playing ball, fishing, going to ball games, and taking family vacations.
An avid golfer and bowler with many buddies from each. Mike was a die hard lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan and a longtime Pittsburg Steeler fan starting during their lean years.
Mike was loved by many and a friend to all who know him. He was also known as the Unofficial Mayor of Meadow Place. In later years he derived much enjoyment providing treats for all the dogs on the block.
The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Friday January 5, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection on Saturday January 6th at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery.
